The Port of Södertälje handles close to 700 vessels per year and is open 24/7 all year-round. The terminals are named Sydhamnen (South Harbour) Oil Port, Igelsta and Uthamnen (Old Harbour).
Södertälje Port is located 30 nautical miles from the pilot station Landsort. Maximum permitted draft of the channel is 9 meters. Maximum permitted vessel length is 200 meters and maximum width is 32 feet. An exemption to these regulations can be applied for via the Swedish Maritime Administration who have overall responsibility for the channel. Maximum air draft for the channel is 50 meters. For the of ports Igelsta and Uthamnen the maximum air draft is 42 meters.

If you are passing Port of Södertälje you arrive to the Södertälje lock, the natural entrance point to Lake Mälaren where 2000 ships pass annually. Maximum vessel dimensions are 135 x 19 m, with a maximum depth of 6.8 meters.
Responsibility for the lock lies with the Swedish Maritime Administration.
