The Oil Port

The Port of Södertälje has the capacity of close to handle 1 million tonnes of oil. The restrictions of oil handling, expected to come into effect in the Stockholm area in 2011, strengthens Södertälje's importance as an oil port on the rise.

In 2006, the Port of Södertälje handled over 400.000 tonnes of oil, diesel and petrol. There are three quays for vessels up to 200 meters long with a draft up to 10,1 meters that enables the port recieve large vessels.
