K-Line have during many years had a co-operation with Port of Södertälje
for their RO/RO activities (import of new cars by vessel). K-Line now also
have decided to transfer their containervolumes to Södertälje.
Port of Södertälje is planned to be the hub-terminal for Lake Mälar
region. K-Lines containerflow were earlier handled by an other port in the
Stockholm region.
The first red K-line containers arrived to Södertälje in the beginning of
this year. K-Line is one of the 15th major shipowners worldwide.
-K-Line is one of the really big dragons. It is of course fantastic that we
have got the mission to handle their volumes for this region. It is
especially positive to attract a client which we have been working on for
result for many years, says Erik Froste MD for Port of Södertälje.
K-Line intend to arrive to Södertälje by rail as well as by sea.
Including K-line,Port of Södertälje have signed agreements with eight new
containerowners during the latest 24 months.
